Omicron virus, New Travel Restrictions on Travelers to Pakistan

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has issued a new travel guideline for travelers coming to Pakistan, stating that the PCR test conducted 48 hours before boarding is mandatory.

According to the details, the Civil Aviation Authority has issued a new travel guideline in view of the threat of the new variant of the Corona, Omicron, and the Civil Aviation Authority has also changed the categories to B and C.

Category C countries

Civil Aviation has expanded the list of Category C countries due to the Corona situation. A notification from the Department of Air Transport states that the number of Category C countries has been increased from 7 to 15. Category C countries include 15 countries including South Africa, Netherlands, Hungary, Ireland, Croatia, Slovenia, Vietnam, Poland, Mozambique.

According to the orders of Civil Aviation, there will be a complete ban on coming to Pakistan from Category C countries while special permission of CAA will be required for emergency travel from these countries.

Category B countries

Category B includes 13 countries including Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, USA, UK, Turkey.

According to the notification, vaccination is mandatory for all travelers coming to Pakistan and said that PCR test will be mandatory for Pakistanis and foreigners above 6 years of age.

According to the CAA, the PCR test done 48 hours before boarding must be shown.
