India is the largest arms buying country in the world, Report
According to a report released by Sweden's Think Tank Stock home International Peace Research Institute, Russia is the highest weapons provided to India, after which France is second and the United States is third.
Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Australia and China are among the five major arms buying countries in the world.
Arms sales increased by 47 % during the 5 -year period of 2018 to 2022 worldwide.
The report said that Pakistan ranks 8th in the list of most buying countries.
According to the report, from 2013 to 2017 and 2018 to 2022, the import rate of India's weapons was reduced by 11 %, but it is still the largest country to buy weapons.
India purchased 11 % of the worldwide weapons from 2018 to 2022.
On the other hand, the United States is the largest arms selling country in the world, which has sold 40 % of the global weapons sold over the past 5 years.
Then Russia is second with 16 % share and France is third with 11 % share.
The report said that the Russian invasion of 2022 was the third largest Ukrainian weapon importing country, which was provided by the US and several European countries.
According to the report, a total of $ 2100 billion worth of arms was sold in 2022.
